Existentialism, rebellious creativity and friendship is at the core of the music coming from Ellison. With a do-all approach to their creative process, the Norwegian duo create captivating blends of folk, 70s soft rock and pop.
Before they had ever released any music, Ellison got booked for gigs both at home and abroad based on the strength of their demos. They’re now set to play Reeperbahn Festival 2023 amongst other gigs.
The duo behind Ellison had been friends for a long time, but only came together creatively in late 2022 with a text that opened with: “Here’s the pros and cons of being in a band”.
Drawing inspiration from unapologetic storytellers like Patti Smith and Joni Mitchell, and with creative influences from bands like Fleetwood Mac, Simon & Garfunkel and HAIM, the duo continually experiments with their sound while writing about lovers who leave, the inescapable fragility of life and ultimately with a view to the world around them.
